Kernel oil and depulped-seed oil start with feedstock evidence
BIS IS 4765 explicitly covers oil obtained from neem kernels and from depulped neem seeds. Kew accepts Azadirachta indica A.Juss., but a botanical name or seller description alone does not prove feedstock, origin or process. Atlas retains accepted species evidence, kernel or depulped-seed basis, harvest and processing origins, lot chain, pressing date and representative test evidence before comparing neem-oil observations.
Cold-pressed oil, clarified extract and supercritical-CO2 margosa stay separate
EPA explains that clarified hydrophobic extract is the oil remaining after alcohol treatment separates virtually all azadirachtin and related substances from natural neem oil. EU Regulation 2025/1203 describes a different active substance made from cold-pressed oil of shell-free Azadirachta indica seeds and extracted with supercritical carbon dioxide. Atlas preserves pressing, solvent or supercritical extraction, clarification, refining, carrier and residual-active basis rather than merging natural oil and regulated extracts.
Azadirachtin result and formulation status require their own evidence
EPA assigns azadirachtin OPP code 121701 and clarified hydrophobic extract of neem oil code 25007. India's June 2024 Registration Committee minutes record specific neem-oil-based emulsifiable-concentrate applications containing azadirachtin at 0.03 percent, stated as 300 parts per million minimum. That dated decision is evidence for those named formulation applications, not a universal raw-oil grade or proof of current authorization for another product. Atlas retains method, result, formulation, label, applicant, jurisdiction and decision date separately.
Intended use and destination authorization travel with the lot
Crude botanical oil, cosmetic or industrial raw material, pesticide active ingredient and formulated biocidal or plant-protection product occupy different regulatory and quality scopes. EPA labels for registered pesticide products include use and environmental controls, while EU Regulation 2025/1203 authorizes a defined repellent product family. Atlas records intended use, destination jurisdiction, authorization holder, registration or exemption evidence, label, batch and expiry where applicable; it does not infer authorization from the word neem or from a chemical identifier.
A standard or formulation percentage does not establish a delivered neem-oil price
A BIS scope, EPA identifier, EU product-family composition range or Indian formulation threshold does not establish an offered lot's identity, active content, current availability, transaction value or delivered cost. A physical comparison still needs permitted current observations for the exact feedstock and processed form, test results, intended use, authorization, origin, package, quantity, currency, Incoterm, destination, delivery window, route costs and information vintage. Atlas withholds a physical estimate when those observations or usage rights are missing.
